The Setting and the Target Audience

My novels are not just aimed at teenagers or young adult readers

they are directed at anyone at all who can spare a little time for a hefty dose of adventure.

They are very easy to read and that has to be a bonus…

Each story has a straightforward plot with a few twists and turns,

and two seemingly dysfunctional heroes who are a lot more savvy than they appear.

They also have lots of engaging dialogue and as much humour as I can manage,

plus numerous supporting characters, most of whom are women,

 but not always.

They feature a very unique species of nature spirits,

all of whom play a part in most of the stories

and a part in the lives of the main characters, from time to time.

And…believe it or not…there are even a few mistakes in the text…

here and there…

A typo as it used to be called…

words that I did not notice during the editing process.

If you find one…let me know…

Thank You.

THE SETTING

The setting for my first novel was the one element that I did not have to invent.

It was inspired by this beautiful planet of ours, especially when seen from the air.

Have you ever lost yourself in the extraordinary landscape created by the huge banks of rolling cloud that you see from the window of a plane?

You have?

Then you can visualise its location – it’s a floating world,

It is actually a parallel universe…called the Khavala…

It is a place that is not all that different to our own world…in many ways…

but it operates in a slightly different fashion.

From Book three onwards, that is, The Sanctuary of Fire

most of my stories will be located in other parts of the universe…

like Planet Earth for example

for a while…

maybe even for a whole series…
